Our Sustainability Approach at Çamlı Feed
Within the framework of a circular economic approach for a livable environment, we can ensure the continuation of a sustainable environment together with our stakeholders and consumers.
Çamlı Feed’s corporate sustainability mission is to pass on our activities to future generations within the scope of a more livable environment and the Sustainable Development Goals. Together with our employees, consumers, customers, and business partners, we aim to act with an inclusive approach on human, ethical, environmental, and legal issues to ensure the sustainable use of resources.
Our Sustainability Efforts From Past to Present
Climate Change and GHG Management
- In 2022, an automatic feeding system investment established a centralized feeding system, improving transfer processes in the tanks.
- In 2022, animal manure resulting from the production activity of our organic dairy farm was utilized in a contracted biogas facility.
- In 2022, energy audits were conducted on systems at our facilities, and revisions were made to systems with lower energy consumption.
- In 2022, improvements were made in the transfer processes, and efforts were made to reduce emission sources.
- In 2022, consumption was reduced by using high-efficiency class motors.
Water and Wastewater Management
- In our Beydere Facility, improvements were made to operational procedures, resulting in a monthly water saving of 525 tons through these changes.
- In our Ildır Facility, regular maintenance activities are carried out to reduce water leaks, achieving a 5% improvement in consumption.
- In the fish hatcheries of our Ildır Facility, the efficiency of water filtration has been increased.
Circular Economy and Waste Management
- A zero-waste management system was established and certified.
- Awareness training sessions on waste management were organized for employees.
- In waste disposal, collaborations were initiated with companies capable of recycling.
- Research was conducted on companies producing recycled packaging products, and efforts were made to prioritize them in our purchasing processes.
Energy Management
- Integration of the ISO 50001 Energy Management System was achieved.
- The Turgutlu Feed Factory was equipped with innovative and efficient machinery or equipment selected from the latest industry technology.
- To use production capacity efficiently, work arrangements were made at different locations, resulting in energy savings.
- With the installation of central heating and cooling systems, efficient operations were carried out.
- LED technology began to be used in lighting projects.
- Within the scope of the Energy Management System, machinery and equipment with high energy efficiency ratings were selected.
- In steam boiler investments, efficient equipment was chosen.
Social Sustainability
- Marketing activities were carried out through social media posts to encourage fish consumption.
- An EU project was implemented to measure social sustainability and test different production models aimed at reducing environmental impacts.
- Awareness training sessions on Gender Equality were organized for employees.
