Chick Care According To The Breeding Aim

Because of the fact that; chick care requires attention and carefulness, they are handled in two groups.

Chick Care For Laying Hen

There are some businesses which produce laying chick in which different methods are applied for the production.

A laying chick is breeded inside cage and the temperature should be;

- 35 degree in the first day

- 34 degree in the second day

- 33 degree in the third day

- 32 degree between the fourth and the seventh days

Air conditioning should be proper and maintenance should be carried out according to the poultry house conditions carefully.

  • The Importance Of Feed, Water and Light

In this type of chick breeding, chick feed is different from broiler chick feed. The laying- oriented production should be made carefully by giving equal importance to feed and water.

Light is another factor which is highly important for the chick care. The illumination should be 1, 5 watt per one meter on average. As if calculation for this rate is not made properly, some problems may occur in this case.

Chick Care For Broiler

The broiler chicks are cooped into their poultry house after sex discrimination. In their growth period, environment conditions such as heat, light, air conditioning, moisture and sum of animals are required to be consider.

  • Heat In Poultry House

The animals should be in 35 degree temperature by being divided or constricted with a curtain system of poultry house. As they grew older, this system disappears and the temperature becomes;

- 35 degree in the first day

- 34 degree in the second day

- 33 degree in the third day

- 32 degree between the fourth and the seventh days

As the nutrition of laying chicks and broiler chicks are different from each other, the feeds are produced differently too.

Feeds are important for the efficiency of production. In order to provide efficiency and better living conditions, qualities of the animals should be primarily considered.
