The First Fish Feed With Probiotic In Turkey

While the importance of probiotics in healthy nutrition and treatment of the diseases causes an intense attraction towards food sector, they also started to be evaluated in a new area of use after their advantages are realized for an effective and smooth production in livestock sector as well. Yaşar Holding Agriculture Group company ÇAMLI aims to increase the economic performance of fish producers with the advantage of enhancing fish health and welfare and to protect the environment by removing the wastes left to the nature during production, via adding fish grower feed product into its fish feed product portfolio branded as BIOAQUA after the long R&D practices.

Meaning “life supporter” in Greek, probiotic is known as a live microbial feed additive that develops microbial balance of intestine and forms positive effects. Çamlı Agriculture Group Product Manager Elvan Yalçın states that they produce fish grower feed with probiotic in Turkey as a first to improve the performance, incentivize growth, ensure maximum protection against diseases with the effect of immunization and especially decrease the death rates and continues as: “As a result of regular field visits conducted by our R&D department together with sales representatives, we have observed that having the high rates of deaths linked to diseases is the biggest problem experienced by our fish producers. At this point, the probiotic we added to the ration of our grower feeds; decreases significantly the risk of having a disease depending on the temperature, vaccination and submersion stress of the fish and thus increases the mucosa hormone and reinforces the defense system of the fish. With the grower feeds with probiotic we have developed as a Çamlı family we both economically have a positive impact on our fish producers and fulfill our environmental responsibility by lessening the wastes left in the nature.”
