Instructions for Use
Çamlı Kuzu Büyütme Feed should be offered for free consumption to lambs together with good-quality hay from the beginning of 3 months of age until the end of the 5th month. If the lambs are sourced externally, it is advisable to start by giving 300 grams of feed per day initially, then increase the amount by 60–80 grams each week.
Important Information
- Lamb shelters should be checked at least 4 times a day. Ensure that newborn lambs receive 150 ml to 250 ml of colostrum within the first 2 hours after birth, and a second dose within the following 6 hours.
- Lambs should have free access to clean, drinkable water.
- Provide at least 1 m² of dry-bedded resting area for every 3 lambs. By the age of 1 month, this should be adjusted to 1 m² for every 2 lambs.
- It is beneficial to keep lambs younger than one week in separate sections.
- From the 1st day onwards, Çamlı Kuzu Başlangıç Feed should be offered for free consumption.
- High-quality dry hay can be introduced from day 30.
- For newborn lambs, the temperature requirements in lamb shelters are: 25 °C on the first day; for lambs younger than 3 weeks, 18 °C (± 5 °C); and for lambs older than 3 weeks, between 13 °C and 15 °C.
- For heating shelters, one (250 W) infrared lamp for every 15 lambs can be used, positioned 1 meter above the floor, or alternative heating systems may be preferred.
- If humidity is high (≥ 80%) and ventilation is insufficient, respiratory problems will increase. In winter, avoid excessive and direct drafts. Also, ensure the shelter is adequately ventilated.
- Vaccination and health practices for lambs and pregnant ewes, both before and after birth, should be carried out within the framework of a defined protocol.
