Kuru Dönem Feed

Çamlı Kuru Dönem Feed, is specially formulated to adequately and evenly meet the nutritional needs of pregnant cattle during the 7th to 9th months of gestation.

Features

  • Thanks to its highly digestible raw materials, it supports the development of both the mother and the calf during the dry period.
  • Protects the rumen and prepares the animal for high milk yield.
  • Reduces the incidence of ketosis, hypocalcemia, mastitis, and metritis that may occur after calving.
  • Its special formula prevents excessive fattening of the pregnant cow.
  • Helps maintain ion balance thanks to its content of anionic salts.
  • Facilitates the expulsion of the placenta after calving.

Important Information

  • During the dry period, the mammary glands of the pregnant animal rest, and body cells are renewed, thus ensuring a healthy preparation for the new lactation period.
  • Animals in the dry period should be kept separately from the milking herd. This prevents miscarriages caused by competition at the water trough or feed bunk.
  • Care should be taken to prevent animals from gaining excessive weight during this period.
  • Clean and fresh water should be available to animals in the dry period at all times.
  • Forage used in dry period feeding should not be moldy, rotten, or spoiled, as these can cause miscarriages and lower immunity.
  • Since the rumen volume of the animal decreases during the dry period, excessive feeding of succulent feeds should be avoided. The amount of succulent forage should not exceed ¼ of the amount given during lactation.
  • Throughout the dry period, alfalfa hay (dry or fresh), beet pulp (dry or fresh), raw materials with high Ca and K content, and dairy feed should not be given.
  • About 15–20 days before calving, dairy feed should be mixed into the ration to accustom the animal to it.
  • 15–20 days before calving, the animals’ dry matter intake should be frequently monitored; in the week of calving, the animal should be able to consume half of the lactation ration.
  • Since it increases udder edema, salt should not be given to the animal during the dry period. In addition, buffer substances such as sodium bicarbonate and magnesium oxide should not be used during this time.
