Are There Any Differences Between Sea Fish And Farm Fish In Terms Of The Omega-3 Amount?

The fat content of fish mainly differs according to fish type, seasonal conditions, nutrition and saltiness of water. Studies in recent years, show that both the total storable fat amount and fat acid composition considerably vary from each other.

Due to these reasons mentioned above; the fat amounts of sea fish and farm fish are different from each other. While monounsaturated fat acids of farm fish are at the rate of N-9 and 18: 2n-6, 20: 4n-6, n-3 fat acids and n-3/ n-6 rates are comparatively higher for sea fish.

Nutritional value for fish, can differ according to ration and environmental conditions. The nutritional values of farm fish are more stabilized than sea fish.
